Shangshang (Sasha) is from mainland China. She graduated from NYU Wagner with an MPA degree specializing in finance. With a passion for social investment, she is now working for a venture philanthropy firm based in Hong Kong. The warm welcome and kind help from WISS made Shangshang feel at home when she first arrived in New York, and as a beneficiary, she joined WISS Board in her second year to have more fun and support the international students. She is also known as "the foodie at WISS" =)

My adventure in New York ended a few weeks ago when I heard I got a job at an international consulting firm in the Netherlands. The past two years at Wagner I had learned and done so much, and now it is time to practice all that I worked so hard for. I’m excited and afraid at the same time. I miss New York a lot, but the idea that I enjoyed every single day of my adventure in that great city makes me smile.
For all you international students at Wagner, I want to let you know that you should relax and try to do as much as possible at Wagner, at NYU and definitely in NYC. Time flies, especially when you’re having fun! Don’t panic when you don’t immediately know what you specialization will be, or if you don’t know exactly what you want to do with your future. As a person who has been insecure about her own skills and future plans, and knows how it feels to be you in a large university in a overwhelming strange city, I want you to know that everything will be fine…You’ll find you path, it just takes time. In the meanwhile, learn, see, ask, taste, experience and talk to others as much as possible! With love from Holland, Donia |

Shu-Yu Keri Tsou
2010-2011 WISS President Human Resources Intern at UNICEF, New York |
Keri is from Taiwan, an East Asian Island where people are warm and friendly. :)
Keri got her MPA from Wagner in May 2011 with a specialization in management, and she has been interning at Division of Human Resources at UNICEF since February 2011. Doing her OPT (Post-Completion Occupational Practical Training), which allows international students interning, volunteering or having a job offer to stay in the U.S. for one more year after completing the academic program, Keri is now taking her time, exploring the city, hanging out with friends, and figuring out what next! Keri is looking forward to meeting more Wagner international students and having fun with new friends while she is still in the city. |
