The Wagner International Students Society (WISS) is a student organization that represents the Wagner international student body and works to address and promote international student interests. WISS aims to promote stronger ties between the international student community at Wagner, through professional and social events, and by being a resource and facilitator for student and academic life.
Events:
WISS is to hold events that meet the following requirements:
support the needs of the international student body
forward the dialogue of public service
raise awareness of international issues
are inclusive of the entire Wagner community
Roles of the Board:
President:
Responsible for vision of the organization and leading Board meetings
Coordinates budget with the WISS Treasurer
Builds relationships with individuals and groups outside Wagner
Administrative control over the Listserv in conjunction with the Communications Chair
Vice-President:
Second-in-command in the event the President cannot fulfill the position
Responsible for supporting the President in fulfilling the position
Serves as liaison between WISS and the WSA, other Wagner groups and the Wagner administration
Provides support to other WISS officers when needed
Events Chair:
Third-in-command in the event the President & Vice-President cannot fulfill their positions
Plans, develops and executes all events
In charge of room bookings, and ensuring all necessary resources are available at the event
Liaises with Communications Chair to publicize events
In charge of developing activities that meet the needs of the WISS membership
Maintains the website’s calendar of events
Collaborates with the membership, other Wagner clubs, the administration, and external relations to host joint events
Treasurer:
Plans, develops and manages the budget proposal for the WSA
Serves as liaison with the WSA treasurer and budget committee
Responsible for the handling of reimbursement of all officers
Ensures the budget is aligned to events
Provides support to other WISS officers when needed
Communications Chair (opening):
In charge of all communications between WISS, the membership, and the larger Wagner community
Administrative control over the Listserv in conjunction with the President
Plans, develops and executes creative publicity for WISS events
Maintains the website
Attends the Board meetings and is in charge of taking meeting minutes and distributing them to the Board
Provides support to other WISS officers when needed
